The Western North Regional Minister, Hon. Wilbert Petty Brentum, together with Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) across the region, has successfully signed contracts for the construction of modern markets under the Government’s 24-hour economy initiative.

The signing ceremony, held yesterday, marks a significant step toward transforming local economies and enhancing commercial activities across the Western North Region. The project forms part of a broader national agenda aimed at promoting continuous economic productivity, job creation, and improved livelihoods.

Addressing participants at the event, Hon. Brentum emphasized the importance of the initiative in unlocking the economic potential of the region. He noted that the development of modern market infrastructure will provide a conducive environment for traders while supporting extended business hours, ultimately boosting revenue generation and economic growth.

The MMDCEs, who played an active role in the process, expressed their commitment to ensuring the successful implementation of the projects within their respective jurisdictions. They pledged to collaborate closely with contractors and key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and high-quality execution.

The 24-hour economy market project is expected to be completed within 20 months, with the aim of creating jobs and fostering prosperity across the region.
