Farmer’s Day

The first ever Farmers Day, celebrated on the 2nd of December 2022 in Western North Region was epic. Happiness and proud moments filled residents of Sefwi Asawinso and the rest of the Districts and Municipal. The first proud moment for Western North Farmers peaked when the crowd learnt that Western North Farmers kept their food prices low at the time others were hiking food prices unjustly. The Minister for Food and Agriculture therefore transported plantains from Western North to his Ministry and other market centres in Accra to essentially underscore the patriotism of Farmers in the Western North Region. And the second proud moment was when they realised their Best Regional Farmer was going home with brand new double cabin pick up as part of his prize. The Final proud moment came when the Chiefs and the people of Sefwi Asawinso conferred on me nkɔsuɔhene (Chief of Development). Nana Yaw Barimah Donkor of Yawmetwa in the Bia West District emerged the Overall Best Regional Farmer.
