THE WESTERN NORTH REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICE LAUNCHES A MUNICIPAL AND DISTRICT ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SANITATION OFFICE PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT TOOL
The Western North Regional Environmental Health Office has held a virtual launch of a Municipal and District Environmental Health and Sanitation Office Performance Assessment Tool with a call on Municipal and District Environmental Health Officers in the Region to periodically use it as self – assessment indicators of their performance in order to identify areas of concern and work with the Assembly to resolve them to promote the health and well being of the population within the various areas of jurisdiction.
Commenting on the purpose and structure of the tool, the Regional Environmental Health Officer Mr. Paul Kwesi Nutsugah, indicated that since assuming office in the Western North Region in 2020 there have concerns with the nature of various assessment of user agency in data collection and ranking with some practitioners disputing various league tables generated and indicated that as Practitioners in the field there is the need to develop this tailor- made performance monitoring indicators to compliment the one use by the Regional Planning Co-ordinating Unit of the Regional Co-ordinating Council.
He gave further details that the tool will assess Ten (10) key performance indicators on the following thematic areas; APPRAISAL OF STAFF, PLANNING, REPORTING, DATA MANAGEMENT, REVENUE MOBILIZATION, PUBLIC EDUCATION ENFORCEMENT AND PROSECUTION MANAGEMENT, STAFF WELFARE, OPERATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND LEVEL OF PARTICIPATION IN CO-ORDINATION ACTIVITIES.
