INTERNATIONAL MEN’S DAY
International Men’s Day celebrates worldwide the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities. On 17th November, 2023, the Department of Gender collaborated with the Sefwi-Wiawso Girl-Child Education Officer and the Department of Children in celebrating this year’s International Men’s Days at Ahwiam M/A J.H.S in Sefwi Wiawso. This 2023’s theme; Zero Male Suicide, highlights the importance of helping men and boys to manage their mental health.
In view of this the Department of Gender, District Girl Child Education Officer and Department of Children sensitized Two Hundred and ten (210) participants consisting of One Hundred and three (103) boys, One Hundred and seven girls, four male teachers and one female teacher.
The participants were sensitized on their rights, responsibilities, promoting good gender practices, Gender Based Violence, issues related to Drug abuse and Suicide. This was to ensure that the participants are well informed about the choices they can make and how to achieve their dreams and goals without perpetrating violence or being victims of Violence.
