National Cross Country Event

In the 5th edition of the national cross country event held on February 25, 2023, our region’s athletes demonstrated resilience and determination as they navigated through challenging terrain. The event which took place at Savelugu in the Northern Region had all the 16 regions in Ghana representing to compete for the ultimate price and bragging rights. Despite certain challenges faced in our preparation towards the competition, the region was represented by 6 female athletes and 5 male athletes. Overall, out of the 16 regions, our female athletes showcased their prowess by securing a commendable 10th position, while their male counterparts fought hard to achieve the 11th position. Their dedication and commitment to the sport are truly laudable, and their achievements serve as an inspiration to aspiring athletes across the region. However, we believe that with adequate preparation, our region will perform better and improve in the next event.
