PRESENTATION OF COMMUNICATION VANS TO THE INFORMATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT-WNR
The Information Services Department (ISD) of the Western North Region has taken a significant step toward enhancing its public communication capacity with the receipt of two fully equipped communication vans. The vehicles were officially handed over during a brief ceremony attended by key regional officials, staff of the department, and members of the media.
The Regional Minister, Hon. Wilbert Petty Brentum formally received the vans on behalf of the Regional Coordinating Council and the people of the Western North Region. In his remarks, he expressed profound appreciation to the central government and all stakeholders who contributed to the acquisition of the vehicles. He noted that the provision of the communication vans demonstrate government’s commitment to strengthen information dissemination and deepen public engagement at the grassroots level.
The Regional Minister emphasized the critical role of the Information Services Department in promoting government policies, educating citizens, and ensuring that accurate and timely information reaches all communities, particularly those in remote and underserved areas. He stated that the addition of the vans would greatly improve the department’s mobility and operational efficiency, enabling officers to extend their outreach programs and to communicate government’s developmental activities to the people of the region. The Hon. Regional Minister expressed appreciation to H.E. John Dramani Mahama for the receipt of such state of the art equipment for communication in the region.
The two communication vans are fitted with modern public address systems and audiovisual equipment designed to support community engagement activities such as public education campaigns, sensitization programs, and mobile information services. These tools are expected to enhance the department’s ability to interact directly with citizens, clarify government initiatives, and address misinformation.
The Regional Director of the Information Services Department also expressed gratitude for the support, assuring that the vans would be put to optimal use.
