The USAID Strengthening Care Continuum Project in collaboration with WIYO and MICDAC organized a day’s training for M-Friend and M-Watchers to re-introduce them to their roles, responsibilities and also have basic knowledge on SGBV, HIV and fundamental Human rights. One Hundred participants were in attendance. WIYO mobilized thirty-nine participants from Bibiani, Akontombra and Suaman -Dadieso, MICDAC mobilized sixty-one participants from Sefwi- Wiawso, Bodi, Juaboso and Aowin. For this activity, the Department facilitated the SGBV session of the training. The goal for this training was to encourage voluntary HIV Testing and for M-Friends and M-Watchers to serve as GBV survivors’ rapid response system. With participants sharing their views and opinion on how vulnerable the most at risk are and how best they can help and protect them, the M-Friends and M-Watchers are willing to create a support group that would provide effective services delivery where the most at risk can enjoy their basic fundamental Human Rights.
