THE WESTERN NORTH REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICE, HOLDS A PRE-DEPLOYMENT TRAINING MEETING ON REPORTING TEMPLATE AND SUBMISSION OF REPORTS USING ICT.
The Regional Environmental Health and Sanitation Office of the Western North Regional Co-ordinating Council in line with its mandate to provide capacity building training has developed a tailor-made reporting template for use by the Municipal and District Environmental Health Officers in the Region.
In order to validate the reporting template developed, all staff of the Regional Environmental Health and Sanitation Office and some selected staff of the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Environmental Health Office were invited to participate in a pre -deployment validation workshop to review the tools developed and also have a hands-on training on the use of google drive to transmit their various activity reports.
In his welcome address, the Regional Environmental Health Officer, Mr Paul Kwesi Nutsugah, welcomed all participants to the meeting on behalf of the Chief Director and emphasized that with the growing trends of digitization, the Environmental Health Practice has evolved over the years from the days of “samasama” through introduction of the Expanded Sanitary Inspection and Compliance Enforcement (ESICOME) and currently to its conversion into an ESICApp which is being used in some selected Regions and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana and further indicated that since the Western North Region is one of the newest regions in Ghana, the Regional Co-ordinating Council have been providing support to the Regional Environmental Health Officer with the required enabling environment to innovate and implement tailor- made initiatives to help improve Environmental Health and Sanitation Service Delivery in the Region and appeal to all participants to take the session seriously and provide the necessary feedback on the tools developed for ease of use to all practitioners in the Region.
The half-day training was facilitated by the Regional Environmental Health Officer and supported by Mr Joseph Ayertey Quayson.
